Zero Energy Consulting
Company Information

Zero Energy Institute is proud to partner with remarkable companies that provide valuable engineering, renewable energy systems and other resources that allow us to provide the world class solutions of tomorrow today.   One of our greatest assets is our own people, ZEI has over forty years of combined engineering and implementation experience in the landfill, wastewater and renewable energy fields.   We thank you for taking the time to get to know us better:

  • Shannon Goodrich (Manager):  Mr. Goodrich has over twenty years of experience in solid waste engineering and anaerobic digester systems design, development and operations for industry such as solid waste landfills, dairy manure, feedlot manure, agricultural wastewater processing and coal mines. Mr. Goodrich has dedicated his career to developing biogas and biomass projects. He specializes in developing technologies such as fuel cells, carbon sequestration technologies, gasification technologies, hydrogen injection and co generation. Mr. Goodrich has designed and built over 2000 cfm of biogas development projects including those with methane cracking technology to sequester carbon graphite nano-fibers and green hydrogen for fuel cell conversion into electricity. He specializes in developing projects that utilize innovative technologies to generate carbon free electricity.

Seth Spiller (Engineer):  Mr. Spiller graduated from the University of Maine Electrical Engineering program and began his career at Raytheon.  There he learned the importance of quality assurance and control in every aspect of engineered systems.  Mr. Spiller went on to found North East Marine Engineering, an engineering firm focused on implementing self contained hydro-mechanical and renewable energy systems.   The ocean provides a harsh environment where every system is put under maximum where any failure large or small can mean the difference between life or death.  When legislation in the early 1990's stopped domestic yacht production Mr. Spiller co-invented wireless data collection software for Orchid Systems that was successfully integrated in over 30% of the Fortune 100 companies.  Leveraging international engineering business development experience,  Mr. Spiller developed a multi-million dollar export channel for technology products.  His efforts helped create a green channel for recycled technology at a time when the norm was to ship hazardous materials to other countries with less stringent environmental regulation.  Successes included selection and recognition from national channel associations and contracts with IBM, HP and Dell.  Returning to his roots in renewable energy systems, Mr. Spiller went on to design low and zero energy commercial and residential structures that include solar thermal, solar photovoltaic and geothermal energy systems.  Mr. Spiller brings over 20 years of experience and expertise in renewable energy systems and engineering business development to Zero Energy Institute.
