ZEI commercial and residential energy consulting services provide the peace of mind that comes with a third party evaluation and opinion.  We help make low energy construction viable and cost effective.  Pre construction services include design reviews with Architectural and Engineering teams; equipment evaluation and selection; energy strategy development; contractor training; site surveys and planning.  Construction services include contactor and construction auditing; design reviews.  Post construction services include review and coordination of infrared analysis, blower door and duct leakage testing; energy conservation strategy execution and operator training.  As a project based third party consultant, our recommendations for systems and controls is independent of sales driven incentives.

The sun, wind and water may present opportunities for clients to leverage free resources available at their locations.  ZEI solar and wind audit reviews start with comprehensive data collection efforts to pin point solar and wind resource reliability and long term performance.  ROI analysis based on engineering data provides clients with the most accurate models possible when considering the viability of harnessing renewable resources. 

 

Selective Construction - Net and Near Zero Energy Homes

 

We are passionate about helping clients design and build homes that use little of no energy on an annual basis.  Current technology can be combined into an economic net zero energy home using traditional building materials and contractors.  Our relationships allow sub $200,000 construction of near zero energy homes (check back as we will be posting plans soon).  Two near zero energy home designs are under way and the site for our pilot zero energy home project in York, Maine has been identified and work is under way to raise funds to build a proto-type solar thermal, solar PV, wind and micro-hydro powered net zero energy home in 2012.  Our goal is to make net zero energy homes and businesses a reality by helping clients make informed choices out of the gate.  Contact us to make a tax deductible donation to our zero energy home project... help us help mother earth, we are all in it together.
